About S.Y. Jackson

Our school opened in 1971 and was named after Sherwood Young Jackson, a local businessman and APS school board member.  We have a strong teaching and support staff as well as a very active PTA, who all set high expectations for our students.  Our school colors are black and gold and our mascot is the jaguar.

APS Mission:  Albuquerque Public Schools in collaboration with the community provide quality education which prepares all students to become contributing members of a diverse changing world.

S.Y. Jackson Mission:  The S.Y. Jackson community will collaborate to provide a safe learning environment which respects individual differences and helps all students to reach their full potential.

"One Team, One Goal: Student Success"
